This apparatus is used to determine the metacentric height of a ship model under load and unload conditions (flat-bottomed vessel). This apparatus consists of:

• A flat-bottomed semi-circular ship model of size 25 x 20 x 20 cm.
• A tank of size 50 x 50 x 30 cm fitted with a piezometer tube to measure the level of water. A transparent sheet is provided on the front of the tank.
• A pointer to measure the angle of heel up to +/- 15°.
• A cross bar arrangement with the provision of angling movable weights at a known distance from the vertical axis through C.G. An Additional five hanging weights (50 gm. each) are provided. Powder-coated paint — the tanks are well, hence increasing the life of the tank.

Experimental capabilities:

• Determination of the metacentric height for a flat-bottomed vessel under loaded and unloaded conditions.
